Lucky Star
04:20
|
|||
Well you do what you do and you do it well
You threw all your luck right down the wishing well
And if there's a way to be found OH! I know you will
Cause you've navigated this world of machinations
You've harbored your horrors you've fought for
Your daughters and now you must find you way home
Took a walk in the desert sun you sought your peace
But for the shadow you cast you cannot find relief
And with no way to evade you turn around and find that
All of your days were spent Toiling labour for
Some heartless demon who has no more feelings
And just wants to drink your blood
It's been a long road; Such a hard road
Gosh it's great to see you smile
In our own way; At our own pace
Can't you see we're doing fine
and like a blister in the sun you thought to blow your mind
All your friends are far out and you feel left behind
Coddling cobwebs of doubt you want to scream and
Shout about it you're twisted and crowded well
Come take my hand love and we'll plant a garden
Around every fallen star
It's been a long road; Such a hard road
God it's great to see your smile
In our own way; At our own pace
Can't you see we're doing fine
Rocking Sublime We will Survive
Still your fragrance would smell as sweet
If given any other name
Though we all are eternal light
It's you who set our Hearts aflame
We might stumble and skin our knees
But these scars Carry no shame
A promise we'll make it back again

Something Ain't
02:51
|
|||
Something ain't right
In the summer I saw her walking
Down that long and lonely road
Where so many have gone before her Into the breath of the unknown
And we're here wanton
In wonderland, we've wandered off the path
Of common sense and all we've left
Is burning up
Something ain't right
And so now when I wake up
From a cheap and restless sleep
Feels just like I'm trapped in a bad dream
Won't somebody please pinch me
Cause I'm steeped in
A dark and terrible mare, and everywhere I turn
This terror steals into my eye but I say
Something ain't right

Always A Raven
05:32
|
|||
Had a lot of time left to myself
in the isolated room of guilt
Picking at my scabs as I go up and down this hill forever,
I'm tired of being bound, to this stone
Turning back the hands of time I can't do
What you would never want me to
Took a lot to find myself a new light,
Ready now to be reborn, I'm tired of hiding from my ghost
I gave him the most I could do
And still he hangs around my bones
As the chilliness of winter's night cut its way
right through my arrogance
I heard a heart beat insincerely
close the window can't you see I'm trying
To start a fire in this hearth
Then a voice carried on the wind calls me out
the eyes make all the difference if they're culled in time
And there's always a raven at my door
Come on if you're coming in
I've had that same look in my eye
Who planted flags in your victory room
As your coming in last in your tournament round
Baby don't you mistake your misfortunes for torture
You know that there's more to this than you've been told
You never were taught to bet on the horse with the golden aura
Baby bet on the horse with the golden aura
She gave us the most that she could

Sarah Said

Sarah said, “Jim you better stop running around,
before you get into trouble that you can’t get out of.”
Sarah said, “Jim you better start taking care of yourself
I mean you better eat better, I mean you’re just skin and bones.”
I'm soaking wet in the back of the van
And I don't know whereMy shirt is
Said I feel like i'm trapped in a bubble
and I'm about to burst, it hurts
I jumped out of my friends bathroom window
He went out the back door, with the boys on his tail
I crept through the woods I tried to stick to the shadow
Where ain’t nothing could find me, except for the rain.
I had nowhere to go so I went to my very first friends house He wasn't home but his parents let me in and the called him
He was out with his girlfriend, but she liked me first
Sarah said something I just could not abide
I said something I don’t remember what it was,
But I snapped back
Sarah said, “Jim, you don’t say what you mean,
I try to mean what I say, but what you say is mean.”
And in that terrible summer the heat had me feeling
Like a boy who was cursed
Oh but were there an eye to the storm I could see
That it would only be getting worse, so much worse
They dropped me off 20 miles away from the rain
And I watched their lights, get swallowed by the night
That was the last time that I saw either of them
I heard they got married, guess I was not invited
Sarah said, “stop running around stop running around stop running around.”

Never To Again
02:44
|
|||
Winter in the field the snow is blowing cold
Windows getting foggy cooking on the stove
Bending the rules to stay inside the lines and find the fairy tale
Walking the razors edge I wonder would my life Be better
If I hadn't left Neverland
Picking at my arms the scars they itch again
Wishing I was back in Upper Michigan
Watching the sunset slowly drift behind and silhouette the trees
Until the pirate's bay invades enslaves a wage of graves
It's just the price you pay for growing up
Setting out the table for my lady love
Dinners hot and ready for when she come home
I was a lost boy starving deep inside the urban wilderness
She came and pulled me out and all way home through her bed
Now never to again be Peter Pan
